About Career Services:
The Career Services Center assists current Lakeland students and alumni to obtain employment and career-related experiential learning, both on and off campus.
JOBSEEKERS
Our services are FREE and include:
- An online job board that contains hundreds of local job openings. Load your resume to apply directly to these jobs and (optionally) post your resume in the "Resume Books" so employers can find you.
- Up-to-date career information through YouTube videos, Facebook, a dynamic website and informative handouts.
- Interactive workshops and classroom presentations on topics like resume writing, interviewing, creative job searching and LinkedIn.
- Individualized, expert career coaching for job search success, including a resume critique, a mock interview and job search planning.

- InterviewStream, an interactive online system, that allows you to practice answering customized interview questions. (Login to the online job board.)
- Special events that bring the employers to you, such as our Career Expo and Mini Job Fairs.
- Providing you with a competitive edge and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in your field while earning academic credit and receiving pay through our Experiential Education Program.
EMPLOYERS
All services are FREE (except the Career Expo) and include:
- Cost effective, well-organized, customer service-oriented and user-friendly services giving you access to an extensive range of candidates as well as promotional exposure of your company.
- A free online job board that receives thousands of hits by job seekers per month. View candidates' resumes in the "Resume Books".
- Job fairs, including 5 "Mini" job fairs with up to 24 employers plus our November Career Expo attended by more than 700 job seekers each year!
- Customized on-campus recruiting and interviewing opportunities and promotion of seasonal job opportunities.
- Access to Business, IT, Media and Engineering Co-op students and Internship students.

The mission of Career Services is to foster a greater awareness of the world of work and to promote lifelong career management. Career Services empowers students and alumni with up-to-date career knowledge, job search skills and experiential education options so that they can choose, obtain and maintain meaningful careers and employment. While maximizing the use of the college's abundant resources, the department provides services that respond to the diverse needs of students and employers in fulfilling their mutual employment goals. |
